are you a drinker Alex and I are always on the lookout for interesting drinks that are a healthy alternative to soda. We’ve found that adding fruit to the water offers an ultra-refreshing, subtle flavor! So have a few fruit infused water recipes that are great for entertaining or just for everyday use.

Now that it’s summer, we’ve found a really easy way to make an ultra-refreshing and healthy “fancy” drink: watermelon pickle juice! It takes a few minutes to make and garnished with a small piece of watermelon, it’s gorgeous too. And something about cucumber brings a relaxing spa-like vibe. Ready to start?

How to make watermelon pickle juice

You don’t need a juicer to make watermelon pickle juice: just a basic blender and fine-mesh strainer! The concept is that you mix the watermelon and cucumber and then strain all the particles (watermelon seeds, cucumber skin) with a sieve. The result is a really refreshing juice that also looks stunning!

For some reason, cucumber in drinks reminds me of a spa: or at least something very relaxing. Someone else? I’ve only had to drink cucumber water in extremely relaxing situations: but something about it gives it a relaxing vibe! Pair that with sweet watermelon and it’s a perfect pairing for a hydrating summer drink.

How to make watermelon pickle juice:

  • Chill the watermelon. (You can add ice to the ice cream, but that can thin it out, so we recommend keeping it cold until you’re ready to make the juice.)
  • Cut the watermelon into cubes. Roughly slice the cucumber.
  • Blend the watermelon and cucumber until runny. Use the ratio of 1 part cucumber to 8 parts watermelon (we used 4 cups watermelon and ½ cup cucumber).
  • Pour through a fine sieve into a clean container.
  • If desired, make small toppings with watermelon wedges and cucumber slices. Enjoy!
