The best tequila for tequila and ginger ale

You can use any type of tequila when making tequila and ginger ale, but we have a strong recommendation. Here’s what you need to know about the types of tequila:

  • Tequila Reposado is the best option. This type of tequila is aged in oak barrels for 2 to 12 months (reposado means “rested” in Spanish). Because of this, it has a very mild flavor and hints of oak and vanilla. It makes a wonderfully intriguing drink when mixed with ginger ale.
  • Tequila Blanco works too. Tequila Blanco is not aged, so the taste is simpler than the typical tequila spirit. The drink is a little less interesting than the reposado, so you can add a squeeze of lime or a few dashes of bitters. Or you can drink it just like that, it’s still delicious!
