How to peel eggs

Once the hard-boiled eggs are steamed in ice water, shell the eggs you want to eat right away. Here are some tips for peeling eggs:

  • Gently tap the larger end of the egg to crush the shell. The bottom of the egg has an air pocket that makes it easier to crush the shell. Then start peeling off the shell. Continue peeling the peel until all the pieces are removed.
  • Store eggs that you don’t want to eat whole in the fridge. You can store leftover eggs in shell in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. If the skin stays on, they stay fresher for longer.
