A salmon salad sandwich is a quick and easy lunch idea! Creamy and hearty, it’s a hearty twist on the classic tuna.


  • 1 Celery rib, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
  • 1 Dill pickle, finely chopped (¼ cup)
  • 1 5 ounces salmon (2/3 cup cooked salmon flakes)
  • 1 tbsp capers, drained
  • ¼ cup Greek yoghurt or natural yoghurt*
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Lettuce leaves, tomato, etc.: for garnish

  1. Prepare celery, red onion and dill pickle as above.
  2. Drain the salmon and place in a medium bowl: mash lightly with a fork. Add chopped vegetables, capers, Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and kosher salt and stir to combine. Taste and add more salt if you like.
  3. If desired, spread the bread with mayonnaise. Add lettuce or other sandwich fillings. Spread the salmon salad on one half of the bread and cover with the other slice of bread.

*For a dairy-free product, omit the yogurt and use a total of 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise: add more if you like.
