Another use for fresh pomegranate juice: grenadine!

You probably make pomegranate juice because you want to reap its health benefits. But guess what? You can use it to make an all-natural version of cocktail syrup, grenadine! Yes, it’s the same grenadine used in cocktails and the popular mocktail, a Shirley Temple! Many people think grenadine is cherry, but it’s actually made from pomegranate (grenade means pomegranate in French).

Homemade grenadine goes best with this Costs pomegranate juice. Why? Fresh juice gives the best bright red color. Making it with store-bought juice gives it a dark muddy red color. The fresh juice makes a bright pink syrup! To do this, go to How to Make Grenadine.
