boost protein

This pineapple smoothie is mostly fruit! If you’re looking for a high-protein smoothie, here are some ideas:

  • Greek yogurt: Yogurt adds some protein and probiotics for a healthy gut. Try mixing ¼ cup to ½ cup depending on your taste. If necessary, add a few drops of water to mix well.
  • cashew butter. The cashew flavor pairs well with pineapple. Use about 1 tbsp, 2 tbsp for a stronger flavor. Keep in mind that this addition will also tone down the color a bit.
  • Protein powder: Of course you can also add protein powder! Our top pick is Greek yogurt for flavor.

How to make it plant-based/vegan!

You can turn this pineapple smoothie into a vegan smoothie by using your favorite milk instead of cow’s milk. Here are the types of plant milks we like to use:

  • oat milk: The taste is sweet and has a nice creamy texture; It’s great for smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Slightly closer to water in texture but popular and easy to find.
  • coconut milk: It’s super thick and adds a strong coconut flavor (it would be extra tasty here!).
  • I am milk: It has a nice sweet taste and thick texture; we use it less than the other three.
