Ingredients for this peach smoothie

No special peach ingredients in this smoothie: they’re all good, healthy ingredients! What you need for this recipe:

  • Frozen Peaches: Finding frozen peaches at the store is easy, and you don’t have to worry about when your smoothie will be perfectly ripe. However: You can also prepare this smoothie with fresh peaches: in this case, use a frozen banana.
  • Fresh banana: The banana helps with the natural sweetness and creamy texture.
  • Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt gives this recipe a boost of protein and helpful probiotics.
  • Ice: Adding ice gives this smoothie just the right frothy texture.
  • Milk: The milk adds creaminess to make it a peach and cream smoothie of sorts! You can also use plant-based milk of your choice.
  • Maple Syrup or Honey: Just a hint of sweetener enhances the taste. Use your favorite natural sweetener!
  • Vanilla & Cinnamon: These flavors are essential to bringing out the flavor of the milkshake! They’re essential in peach pie and take this peach smoothie on top.

How to make it plant-based/vegan!

You can prepare this plant-based or vegan peach smoothie as follows:

  • Make a peach banana smoothie. Take out the Greek yogurt and add more banana! Mix 2 cups frozen peaches, 2 bananas (room temperature), ½ cup water and 8 ice cubes with equal amounts of vanilla and cinnamon.
  • Replace the yogurt with plant-based milk AND vegan yogurt or ½ banana. Oat milk is usually a bit sweeter and creamier, so we like it a bit more. You can also try coconut milk, which adds a nice coconut essence, or soy milk. Then use vegan yogurt or another ½ banana for the yogurt.

More flavor variations!

Would you like to vary your peach smoothie? Here are some ideas for additional flavors to mix and match:

  • Coconut Peach Smoothie. Use coconut milk instead of regular milk to provide coconut essence.
  • Peach Mint or Peach Basil Smoothie. Add a few fresh mint or basil leaves for an herbal touch.
  • Mango Peach Smoothie. Substitute 1 cup of frozen mangoes for 1 cup of frozen peaches.

Can you save this peach smoothie?

Smoothies are best consumed immediately. This peach smoothie will keep for 1 day in the refrigerator, stored in an airtight container or mason jar with the lid on. It can separate, which is perfectly natural. Shake it and you’re good to go! After 1 day it starts to lose its taste: we therefore advise against storing it longer.
