Boiled carrots can actually taste amazing! Here’s how long to cook carrots and how to season them to perfection.


  • 1 mash carrots or 2 1/2 cups cut
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • ¼ teaspoon plus 1 pinch of kosher salt
  • 1½ tablespoons chopped chives (or chopped spring onions)
  • ½ teaspoon maple syrup (optional)

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Peel the carrots and cut into 1/4 inch slices (diagonally).
  3. Once the water is boiling, add the carrots and cook until just tender, 4-5 minutes (longer if you like it more tender). drain.
  4. Mix the carrots with the chives, butter and salt. Taste and add additional salt if desired.
