  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 cups 2% milk (or oat milk)
  • 3 tablespoons Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon peppermint extract*
  • ¼ cup (1½ ounce) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips**

  1. Place a saucepan over medium heat. Add cocoa powder and ¼ cup milk and beat until cocoa powder is almost completely incorporated. Whisk in the remaining milk. Add the remaining ingredients and heat over medium heat until the chocolate has melted, about 2 minutes. Not cook. Serve immediately, garnished with whipped cream or marshmallows.

*Want to create an enriched variant? Substitute 1.5 ounces of crème de menthe or opt for the hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps.
