Mojito Pitcher Recipe

The Mint Mojito is one of the best classic cocktail favorites of all time. But when it comes to entertainment, have you ever tried shaking more than 2 glasses in a row? It takes far too long to make them to order. Type: this Mojito Pitcher Recipe! We created this great cocktail for al fresco dining, and it’s infinitely more fun to party with one in hand. It’s minty, tangy, sparkling and gives you the carefree feeling of the last day of school before the summer holidays.

What’s in a Mojito Pitcher?

The classic mojito was invented in Havana, Cuba, although its exact origin is unknown. Some say it dates back to the 15th century with an early combination of lime, sugar and rum. The modern version of this gained traction in the 1930s when writer Ernest Hemingway helped popularize it.

The mojito has made it onto the International Bartender Association’s official IBA cocktail list, meaning it has an official definition. But it’s still defined as a single drink, not a pitcher. The pitcher version uses a homemade simple mint syrup that’s a little different from the standard method. You will need the following ingredients:

The key: simple mint syrup

The standard mojito is made in a cocktail shaker: you first chop the mint, then add simple syrup, lime juice, and rum. But for a pitcher version, you don’t want to have to mix as much weed. That’s where mint syrup comes in! Quickly make an easy mint syrup that will add fresh mint flavor to any drink. It’s similar to this simple mint syrup, but even faster. Here are the main steps:

  • Place the mint leaves in a saucepan with equal parts sugar and water.
  • Bring to the boil until the sugar has dissolved, then let stand for at least 5 minutes. Then strain into a large pitcher.

Otherwise, this mojito pitcher recipe is beyond easy. Mix the syrup with the lime juice and rum, then add the ice and toppings to the pitcher. Serve drizzled with sparkling water! Speaking of…

Sparkling Water vs Club Soda

Speaking of sparkling water…is that club soda? Is it seltzer water? In this mojito pitcher recipe, we’ll use the term “carbonated water” to refer to any type of unflavored carbonated water! Here are some of the differences between club soda and seltzer water:

  • Sparkling water or seltzer water is carbonated water with no additives – just fizzy!
  • Soda is a sparkling water with added minerals that give it a salty and slightly sweet taste. It’s great in cocktails, like these best soda cocktails.

In contrast, tonic water is carbonated water with added quinine and sugar. Do not use it in a mojito due to its distinct flavor. But you can use it for a gin tonic, vodka tonic, tequila tonic or whiskey tonic!
