Blueberry Jell-O

How do blueberries sink to the bottom?

In this recipe, you mix up the simple batter and top with the fresh blueberries before putting it in the oven. How do they end up below? Blueberries are denser than the paste. So while the blueberry cobbler cooks for 1 hour, they’ll settle to the bottom. A beautiful golden crust forms on top!

As we did, we turned on the oven light and looked at the berries. After 20 minutes the blueberries were still on top. But luckily after another 40 minutes a nice golden crust had formed on the blueberry cobbler. It worked! We took it out of the oven and served it warm with melted vanilla ice cream. As I watched my son and his friends smear blue paste on their charming faces, I was convinced: this blueberry cobbler is now My also the family tradition.
