Spread hummus on a plate or in a bowl, then garnish with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, artichokes, and feta cheese. Each bite is an explosion of spicy, bright and creamy flavors! It’s better with crispy pita chips, but anything goes. Once you start diving, it’s hard to stop.

Hummus dip ingredients

This hummus dip is a multi-layered dip game: it’s like a taco dip with Mediterranean flavors. It’s easy to prepare: put the hummus on a plate or in a bowl and cover with the toppings. Remember: you’re going to want the best hummus here: or you can make your own! Here are some pointers to the ingredients you will need:

  • Hummus: Use the best quality brand you can find. We recommend avoiding the Sabra brand as the taste is way too aggressive. We love Hope Hummus, but it can get pricey. It’s easy to make homemade hummus for the best flavor.
  • english cucumber: Use an English pickle for the best flavor. This variety is long and skinny and comes wrapped in plastic at the grocery store. The flavor is milder and milder than a standard cucumber, and the skin isn’t as tough.
  • Red onion
  • cherry tomatoes
  • artichoke hearts: Research all types of Canned Artichoke Hearts you can find; inserted works too!
  • Kalamata olives
  • feta cheese
  • Fresh parsley or dill

Serve with pita chips or make your own

Best for dipping in hummus dip? Pita chips! Crunchy and salty, they’re the best vessel to put this delicious party snack in your mouth. Pita chips are easy to find at the store, but we love making our own. Why? They taste much fresher than store-bought ones, which can have an artificial aftertaste.

All you have to do? Slit the flatbread pockets, brush with olive oil and salt, cut into wedges and bake at 400 degrees for about 8-10 minutes. Go to this recipe: Homemade Pita Chips.
