Limoncello Spritz

Here’s a sparkling Italian cocktail with pure lemon flavor: the Limoncello Spritz! Limoncello is an Italian liquor that’s often drunk after dinner… but we’ve started making cocktails out of it! This super strong lemon liqueur is best used in cocktails. There’s the limoncello mojito and the limoncello martini… and now it’s disguised as a spritz! This version of the Aperol Spritz is full of bright lemon flavor and in our opinion even better than the original. It’s bubbly and bubbly, with a burning citrus bite.

What’s in a Limoncello Spritz?

Limoncello Spritz is a variation on the popular Aperol Spritz, an Italian aperitif. The spritz was invented in Italy in the 19th century to dilute sparkling wine. But it wasn’t until the 1950s that the Aperol Spritz took on its current form! It is a cocktail on the International Bartender Association’s list of official IBA cocktails, meaning there is an ‘official’ definition. Limoncello Spritz simply replaces limoncello with Aperol, an Italian bitter. What you need for a limoncello spritz:
