lime sorbet

Do you like citrus fruits? So you will fall head over heels in love with him lime sorbet! The taste is zesty and pure: icy with a bright finish. It’s like a glass of iced lemonade, and each icy, refreshing bite leaves you wanting more. It is ideal for a summer evening and pairs beautifully with other flavors. We accompanied it with a pineapple sorbet and it was a hit! Here’s what you need to know about homemade sherbet.

What you need for lime sorbet

Lime sorbet is easy to make: the longest part is juicing all those limes! This recipe calls for juicing 7-8 limes. When it’s done, it usually goes without surgery! Here are the ingredients and materials you will need:

  • Lemons
  • Sugar
  • water and ice
  • mixer
  • ice machine (see below)
  • centrifuge : It’s good to have a reliable lime juice extraction method here, especially since there is so much to extract. We love a citrus press like this: it’s very easy to use and prevents hand cramps!

The basic idea? Mix the lime juice, zest, sugar and water with some ice, then freeze the mixture in an ice cream maker for about 20-25 minutes. Then place it in a container, place it in the freezer and freeze for another 2 hours to get a scoopable texture. Go to the recipe below for instructions!

Freeze the base of the ice maker beforehand

An ice cream maker is required for this recipe. If you’re unsure about buying one, it’s a great investment and you can use it to make many varieties of sorbets and ice cream! Here it is 2 liter ice machine We use it: We’ve had it for years and it’s very resistant. It’s also a great gift idea! Use it as a housewarming gift or a fun surprise for ice cream lovers.

make sure you Freezing the bottom of the ice machine overnight before preparing this recipe. Did you forget? If so, freeze it for at least 4 hours and check if it’s completely frozen by shaking it. If you still hear liquid inside, it’s not completely frozen.

Go ahead and save the lime sorbet

If you can, enjoy this lime sorbet the day it’s made for better texture. It keeps in the freezer for a good 1 week! One note: the lime sorbet in particular has a different texture to other fruit sorbets: it’s a bit icier (since there’s no pulp, just juice). Here’s what to do:

  • Line a storage container with parchment paper. This prevents the sorbet from freezing to the edges of the container and makes it easier to defrost.
  • Leftovers keep for 1 week, but thaw at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Take the time to leave the container on the counter until it has thawed. Don’t expect it to be like store-bought sorbet that stays sweeter in the freezer. Lime sorbet thaws a little quicker than other fruit sorbets because it’s mostly water (no fruit fibers).
