  • Lemon: You need real lemons: bottled juice is not allowed! Only fresh lemon has the necessary taste here
  • Sugar: Sugar is necessary to balance the taste, otherwise this drink will be too tart
  • Bag of black tea: Black tea the classic variety for iced tea. Keep in mind that it contains caffeine, but only about half the caffeine content of a cup of coffee.

How to Make Lemon Iced Tea: Basic Steps

The lemon iced tea will take about 20 minutes total, after which you will need 2 hours to chill the pitcher. But other than brewing the tea, it doesn’t take much effort! It’s mostly convenient and easy to do while you’re cooking or preparing other things. Here are the basic steps to prepare this iced tea recipe:

  • Brew the tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add 6 bags of black tea and turn off the heat. Leave for 5 minutes.
  • stir in sugar. Remove the bag and stir ½ sugar into the hot tea.
  • Add cold water and lemon juice, then cool: Add 4 cups of cold water and bring to room temperature (about 10 minutes).
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours: Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate for 2 hours.

  • 8 cups water shared
  • 6 black tea bags
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

  1. In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the tea bags. Leave for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water and the lemon juice to the pan. Let cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
  3. Pour the mixture into a pitcher. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before drinking. Store up to 4 days.
