How to cut spaghetti squash step by step

Step 1

Slicing spaghetti squash: Use a small, sharp knife

Find a small, sharp paring knife. (It might seem odd that a small knife could slice through a large spaghetti squash. But it’s the safest method because it helps prevent the slipping that occurs with a large knife.)

How to cut the spaghetti squash: Use a small sharp knife to slice it across

Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise (not lengthwise!). To cut it, poke the knife through the squash and swing it down, making small slices around the squash. Cutting it this way will give you the longest strands, or “noodles”.
