For these grilled apples, you’ll need to cut them into 1/4-inch slices. You can leave the skin on (we did!) or remove it if you prefer desserts with peeled apples. Somehow we just recently learned how to quickly cut apples. Here’s the trick to quickly slicing apples into thin slices: Watch the video below!

  1. Hold the core of the apple and use a large chef’s knife to cut through all four sides of the apple, as close to the core as possible.
  2. Take one of the wedges and lay it flat on the cutting board. Then cut into thin slices.
  3. Repeat with the remaining quarters!

The easiest way to grill apples is in foil packaging. You just need to know a few basics: the grilling temperature and the approximate time. Keep that in mind and keep them rehearsing all summer long! Here’s what you need to know (or jump straight to the recipe):

  • Preheat a grill on medium: it’s 375 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Cut the apples into thin slices. See the video above!
  • Place on aluminum foil and season with sugar and spices. Then place another sheet of aluminum foil on top, seal and poke holes to allow air to escape.
