Everyone we’ve served this pea dip to raves about it! With only 3 ingredients, it’s an easy party appetizer to add to your list of party dip recipes.

It’s green, it’s healthy, but that’s no joke: everyone we’ve served it to, just delirium to this topic! So much so that we hear the chorus, “Can you make that pea dip again?” This is one of our favorite dip recipes because it’s easy, healthy, and delicious. Even those who hate peas love it! Mix green peas and cilantro with some salse verde and it’s pure magic as a party snack. Serve it with tortilla chips or pita chips and your guests will park in front of the bowl.

How to make pea dip

Credit for this very tasty pea dip goes to my sister-in-law’s (or my brother-in-law’s mother?) mother-in-law. Anyway, Laury lives in Alaska and is an amazing person in every way. On a trip to Alaska (where I caught my first fish) she served us this green pea dip. And the whole family loved it!

Here’s Alex and my take on this recipe. The premise is so simple that it hardly needs explaining:

  • Defrost a bag of frozen peas.
  • Toss these green peas in a blender or food processor along with a few handfuls of cilantro and a jar of salsa verde.
  • Mix it up into a nice green mash!

The result is a fresh green pea dip that even cilantro and pea haters swear by! I promise it’s happened to us several times. This recipe is one of our favorite entertaining recipes and one of our favorite green pea recipes. It also works for a variety of diets: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free. We’ve kept it too long not to share!

What is the best way to store coriander?

Cilantro is a key ingredient in this green pea dip, so we thought we’d share our favorite cilantro tip. It may have happened before: you buy cilantro, put it in a plastic bag at the grocery store, and then toss it in the fresh food drawer of the fridge. You open the drawer the next day and the cilantro has already turned into a kind of blackish, molded version of itself. (Do you feel us?)

What is the best way to store coriander? A herb saver! We love this herb saver that keeps herbs fresh for a couple of weeks! Simply place the fresh herb bundles in the water and close the lid. Here it is Herb saver that we use.
