This creamy Greek yogurt and chive dip is a healthy appetizer for any occasion—serve with colorful veggies, fries, or pretzels.
The Olympics are extremely nostalgic for Alex and me. We love their spectacle, tribulation-to-triumph stories, crazy opening ceremonies, and goofy drama. One particular lame Turner moment from 1996 stuck with me as if it were part of my own childhood. And what girl in the ’90s didn’t want to be a star gymnast?
Every time the games happen, it’s a new excuse to get carried away with mania, and Alex and I are always ready for that. As adults, we’ve grown accustomed to opening ceremonies. And that’s the inspiration behind this chive dip recipe! Now you can serve it anytime. But we have a fun twist that makes it perfect for special occasions too. Here’s what you need to know to make this delicious dip!

Serve this chive and Greek yogurt dip
This year we took on the challenge of creating a healthy, yet fun and festive Olympics-themed recipe. The result is this chive yoghurt dip with strips of vegetables, which is not only funny to look at, but also damn delicious. The hardest ring to recreate was blue (because what vegetable is blue?).
We came out on a branch with these purple potatoes that have a bluish tint when cooked. Thinly sliced and seared on a griddle, they were our favorite for dipping in the creamy chive dip. We’re more motivated now than ever and this recipe will surely show up at an upcoming opening ceremony.
Of course, you don’t have to serve it with a theme! Some easy dips for this chive dip are:
- carrots and celery sticks
- pepper strips
- pretzels
- crisps

And you, will you gather with your friends and family around a meal to celebrate the next Summer Games in Rio? Because it’s about The More than the medal matters: Spending time with family and friends, tracing very human stories, and celebrating the important victories in our own lives, big and small.
