How to Make Grapefruit Juice (In a Blender)
It’s easy to make grapefruit juice in a blender: it comes together quickly! The only part that takes a little time is the effort. Here are the main steps:
- Blend all ingredients on high power until pureed and smooth. Mashing it with ice will help cool it down a bit before drinking.
- blunt! This is the important part. Strain the juice through a medium or fine mesh strainer, or through a bag of nut milk (a bag of nut milk works faster). Using a medium-mesh sieve will result in a juice with more pulp, giving you more fiber. A fine-mesh sieve makes it very clear. Discard this pulp or see some uses below.

What to do with pulp
Do you save your juice porridge? Honestly, we usually throw it away. It’s a waste to throw away all those fibers. But to be honest: you don’t have a lot of great things to do with it. Here are some ways we’ve used it:
- Add to smoothies. Save the pulp and add to smoothies: you can even freeze it for a frozen texture! Try it in a grapefruit smoothie.
- To the compost! Really, this organic matter is the best thing in your compost pile. Learn more about Composting 101.
