You can prepare it in any flavor and it tastes amazing: for kids or adults! How to do it.
Ingredients of this yoghurt drink
Drinking yoghurt is very trendy: our son in particular is obsessed with it. For a good reason: it’s soft, creamy and refreshing! But many store-bought brands have lots of plastic packaging, added sugar, or artificial colors or flavors. So why not try it at home? Mixing only takes 5 minutes and keeps well. Here’s what you need (see recipe below for quantities):
- Natural yoghurt
- frozen fruits
- milk
- maple syrup or honey
All you have to do: mix and match! It only takes 5 minutes and the result is beautifully frothy and refreshing.
Flavors for drinking yoghurt
This yogurt drink is ideal with strawberries (our son’s favorite!), but you can make it any flavor you like! All you have to do is vary the fruits you mix. We like to use frozen fruit, but you can use fresh fruit as well. Here are a few ideas we love:
- strawberry
- blueberry
- raspberry
- banana
- pineapple
- mango
- The Peach
Plain yogurt vs Greek yogurt
Use your favorite yogurt in this yogurt drink: whatever you have on hand! We like to use plain yogurt because it has a fluffy texture. But we also always have Greek yoghurt ready to hand in our fridge. It’s thicker, so you may need to add a bit more liquid when mixing to give it a more drinkable texture.
storage information
This yoghurt drink keeps well in the fridge. Mix it up and the homemade drinking yoghurt will keep for up to 5 days. It’s better the fresher it is, but it still tastes great throughout its shelf life. Keep in mind that it will settle once it cools, which isn’t a bad thing: it’s always good! Just shake it before enjoying.
