Everything really tastes better with tahini sauce: And it only takes a few minutes to prepare. Here’s how to make the essential sauce you need in your life!

How to make tahini sauce

This tahini sauce couldn’t be easier! Just mix equal parts tahini and fresh lemon juice, then add olive oil, salt, and some maple syrup or honey. Here are some important notes about the process:

  • Do not substitute bottled lemon juice. You must have the real thing: fresh lemons!
  • The sweetener balances the sauce. We like to add maple syrup or honey to balance out the acidity of the lemon. You can omit it if you are on a sugar-free diet.
  • Add water until it reaches a watery consistency. The dressing will be very thick, then stir in the water until it reaches your desired consistency that’s easy to drizzle on. We used 2 tablespoons of water for our recipe, but this may vary depending on the brand of tahini. Tahini markings can vary widely, from very creamy to chunky and thick, so adjust as needed. Keep in mind that some brands of tahini may require stirring for several minutes before using to incorporate the oil (similar to peanut butter).
