How to make pumpkin spice syrup

This pumpkin spice syrup is a twist on plain syrup: a liquid sweetener made from equal parts sugar and water. For this variant you use brown sugar, which provides an intense molasses taste. Pair that with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg in a pumpkin pie spice mix, and the flavor is out of this world! All you have to do is let it simmer on the stove for a few minutes. Here are the basic steps:

  • Mix together the sugar, water and pumpkin spice. Place ½ cup brown sugar and water in a small saucepan on the stove. Add 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice.
  • Heat until dissolved. Heat over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring, until completely dissolved. Don’t simmer!
