When Alex and I tried this for the first time, we were blown away by the taste. Mint tea tastes fresh and bright. It’s a great way to wake up in the morning as an alternative to coffee. You can make spearmint tea or mint tea: use whatever variety of this tasty herb you have on hand.

How to make peppermint tea

Mint tea only requires two ingredients: fresh mint and water! You’ll be amazed at how much flavor comes from just two ingredients. You can use any type of mint to make tea: spearmint, peppermint, or chocolate mint. They all have slightly different flavors! This recipe is best made in the summer when you have plenty of mint on hand, but you can also make it in the winter with store-bought herbs (it’s super refreshing). How to prepare mint tea:

  1. Boil: Boil a pot of water. We use a kettle (which we also use for our morning coffee).
  2. Harvest herbs: Put 8 fresh mint leaves in a cup.
  3. Soaking: Pour in the water The exact amount doesn’t matter: just fill the cup! Leave to rest for 5 minutes, then enjoy.

  • 8th fresh mint leaves, left on the stem
  • Boiling water

  1. Boil the water.
  2. Wash mint thoroughly.
  3. Put the mint in a cup and pour boiling water over it. Let the mint steep for 5 minutes. Remove the mint and enjoy. (Alternative method: If you prefer, you can chop the mint leaves and place them in a tea strainer before steeping.)
