How to make lemon glaze

This lemon glaze is Actually It’s that simple: It takes 2 ingredients and 2 minutes. (Actually, 1 minute is more like it!) Here’s what to do:

  • Squeeze 2 tablespoons of lemon juice In a bowl. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is key! Avoid store-bought bottles, which have a dull, sour taste. The best tool for pressing? We love this juicer.
  • Mix it with 1 cup powdered sugar until a thick glaze forms. That’s it! it’s cake Or frosting? It has a nice medium-bodied consistency and a spicy, punchy taste.

This lemon frosting recipe makes ½ cup of frosting, which is enough for a variety of baked goods. Here’s what we like to use it for and how to apply it!

  • Lemon Cake Frosting: Use on sponge cake or bread cake; Also works on Angel Food Cake. If you think you need more frosting, make 1.5 or 2 times the recipe.
  • For the muffins or cupcakes: Use a fork to drizzle over muffins; should be enough for 12.
  • For the breads or sweet breads: Try it on strawberry bread, banana bread or lemon bread. Half the recipe is enough for a light drizzle (see Strawberry Bread below).

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar with the lemon juice until a thick glaze forms. If the texture isn’t watery, add a few drops of lemon juice and keep stirring until combined.
  2. Drizzle with a fork over cookies, sweet breads or muffins, pour over sweet bread or sponge cakes or dip donuts. Makes enough for a one-pound cake or sweet bread, a drizzle for 12 muffins or cupcakes, or a dip for 12 donuts.
