  • Chop the garlic. The only chopping you have to do is chop a clove of garlic. Not a peeling and chopping professional? Go chopping garlic.
  • Sauté the garlic in the olive oil for 1 minute. Cook until you start to smell it and it’s sizzling nicely, but before it turns brown. This should take 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Cook the canned chickpeas, smoked paprika and salt for 2 minutes. Cook until just warmed through. You’ll be amazed at how much flavor unfolds within minutes of cooking.

  • 15– ounces of chickpeas*
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 Lemon slice, optional

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Chop the garlic.
  2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant but before it turns brown.
  3. Add chickpeas, smoked paprika, salt and a few black peppercorns. Cook for 2 minutes until heated through. Serve immediately. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
