boost protein

Want to add even more protein to this strawberry banana smoothie? Here are a few ideas:

  • Use more Greek yogurt: The yogurt adds a little protein. Double the amount of yogurt and use ½ cup instead of ¼ cup.
  • Add cashew butter or almond butter. A cashew or almond flavor pairs well with pineapple; we prefer it peanut butter. Use about 1 tbsp, 2 for a stronger flavor. Keep in mind that this addition will also tone down the color a bit.
  • Protein powder: You can also add protein powder! We usually opt for real food options, especially since we’re not fans of the protein powder aftertaste.
