This homemade almond butter recipe is easy and fun to make and tastes amazing! Here’s how to make homemade almond butter.


  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1½ tablespoons grape or rapeseed oil

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F and spread almonds on a rimmed baking sheet. Grill for 20-25 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Let the almonds cool for 1 minute, then put them in the food processor (while they’re still warm). Blend for 1-2 minutes until dry and crumbly. Scratch the bowl.
  3. Turn on the processor and, with the engine running, add ½ teaspoon kosher salt and 1 tablespoon oil. Continue to mix for 6 to 9 minutes, scraping bowl often at first and adding ½ to 1 tablespoon oil if almonds are too dry. (This process requires several stops and scrapings.) Continue processing until the dry almonds begin to clump together into a ball of dough, and then longer until they turn into a creamy liquid.
