Amazing Avocado Dip
Amazing Avocado Dip

This creamy avocado dip recipe is a tasty alternative to guacamole! It pitches quickly and magically stays green for days.

We know guacamole reigns supreme as a chip sauce of the day. But here’s an alternative that we (gasp) think is even more fun: this creamy one avocado dip! Dip a skillet in this luxuriously creamy and intensely flavorful magical sauce and pow! The blend of avocado, lime, cilantro, and cumin is like a fortified version of your favorite guac. Even better: unlike guacamole, it stays green in the fridge for days! We loved it straight away and this is our new dip for friends and parties.

Ingredients for this avocado dip recipe

The most important thing you need for this avocado dip recipe? Ripe avocados. Just like a banana muffin cannot be made without ripe bananas, avocado dip requires beautifully ripe avocados. Other than that, the cast of the characters is simple. The difference to guacamole? You will add a little yogurt or sour cream and mix! Here’s what you need:

  • Ripe avocados
  • greek yogurt (or sour cream; replaces vegan cashew cream)
  • lime juice
  • coriander
  • garlic powder
  • cumin
  • Salt

How to make avocado dip: processor, blender, or fork

This avocado dip works best in a culinary robot, where it turns into a smooth green sauce in seconds. You can also use a blender if you want: but you’ll probably want to use one small blender because of the amount of ingredients. You can use a standard blender, but this will depend on the exact size and power of your blender.

Don’t have any of these tools? You can make a great avocado dip by hand! Simply mash the avocados with a fork and stir in the remaining ingredients. Very easy! It doesn’t look as nice and creamy, but it works.

Storage information and how to keep it green

This avocado dip is not only delicious and versatile: it stays green for days. That’s right: no crazy tricks like applying water or plastic wrap like you’ll hear about guacamole.

  • How does it stay green? The acidity of the lime juice makes this avocado dip naturally green.
  • The avocado dip will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days. You may need to stir to re-incorporate the liquid that separates over time.
